I started my truck to pull it into my shop to jig the KDP and I heard a grinding noise, to make a long story short my KDP fell out just then and cracked my case. Is there step by step instructions some where and can replace the case without removing the cam ? Another thing where can I fin the cover for cheap ? Thanks alot :{

It is considered a high risk thing to do if you pull the gear off the cam shaft. There have been some expensive failures reported from doing that.

Considering all that it takes to get that job done pulling the cam is not a huge deal. It may take an hour or two more to pull it but the risk of removing the gear and replacing it correctly make pulling the cam seem like a pretty good option.

I have R&R my gear housing (95 Ram) because of KDP. The factory repair manual and information from this site is all ya need. This is a good opportunity to set the timing and install an aftermarket camshaft. Lots of info once you search.

What year truck. We want to know:)

WMowat, go to your user control panel and fill in the space for your signature. Year, 2x or 4x, transmission, upgrades, etc, etc. Helps us out in the short run.
