;) Just a thought ;)

Surely there's a lawyer out there with a Cummins Dodge that could advise us as to a class action suit against Chrysler and Cummins concerning the KDP... ... . I think there are enough members and non-members that read these posts that we could get a little cash together and get their attention. They both know by now that they have a problem and they're ignoring it ! Recalls aren't only for safety items. I recall when I was a Service Writer for a Chrysler Dealer in the late 70, Chrysler had to recall Volares and Aspens for front fenders rusting prematurely. Hardly a safety concern but they had to replace the fenders because a reasonable person wouldn't expect their fenders to have holes in them at 2 or 3 years old. I think a reasonable person wouldn't expect a dowel pin to be trashing engine after engine, particularly considering the high price paid to get the Cummins Diesel. The engine is the only reason I purchased a Dodge. Having worked in a Chrysler Service Dept. I've seen the electrical nightmares and poor quality fit and finish of the Chrysler line. They still haven't figured it out ! Example: Fuel Sending Units, Transmissions, Crumbling Steering Wheels etc. I'd sure be willing to kick in a few bucks for an attorney... ...

Problem is lawyers drive '02s and trade them in every year.

Just $10 in postage and a couple hours of your time will get you a jig, I'd rather do that give money to a lawyer trying to fight DC's mega bucks. Of course I wouldn't say that if the pin bit me.

I think it would be easier just to tab it or jig it and not worry about it again.

If you had to wait on our court system, your pin would either strike or you'd be ready for an overhaul.

Agreed, you certainly would not want to put off taking some sort of preventive steps to keep the pin in place. But there are many unfortunate souls out there who have gone out of warranty on their engines and then were bitten by the KDP resulting in mucho out-of-pocket expenses.

I think a class action would be most beneficial to these folks.

Quite frankly, if they did issue a recall I would be hesitant to bring mine in to DC after having done the work to tab it myself.

The problem with most class action lawsuits is the attorneys are the beneficiaries. They get people to sign on to a class action, then when they prevail with a multimillion dollar judgement they take their share first then divide the rest amongst the plaintiffs.

The owners who have been bit probably wouldn't recieve enough to compensate them.

$$$$$

Anything's better than nothing,... . and that's what we have now..... Maybe somebody would take it for a percentage !

:D besides, there'd be a lot of satisfacion making them pay for their screw-ups after blowing us off so many times.

my grandfather owns a corporate law-firm here in tulsa. i just recently had my KDP strike, and i have been trying to get him on the ball and see what he can do. He is in British columbia for a couple of weeks now and said he'll look into it when he gets back. I'm not sure we'll get anywhere but it's always worth a shot.
