The new owner of my beloved 1993 CTD asked me about the killer dowel pin scenario and I told him I thought only some of the much later models (second gen) were affected. Now that I think of it though, I don't remember where I read that :( . Am I wrong?

Is it living on borrowed time?

Sorry guys, I should have looked at the other post's down below - Obviously I was wrong!

Unfortunately the KDP problem also affects the First Gen Trucks. I hope to fix that on my truck.

kdp

 hey dog, mine was out a little, but tapped back in rather snuggly, and I tabbed. Bolts were loose that hold on inner cover, though. May not of came out, but you know murphy law, I'm as ease on this issue now. Tim

Where is Potsdam in relation to Torrington, Ct?

I will be receiving a first gen KDP kit next week from Bob Beauchaine.

I will be killing mine and Bflood will be joining in to kill his either thursday evening or sunday am, not sure which yet. At least that's the plan right now.

You are welcome to join us if you can make it.

Send me a pm

Jay

Bob Beauchaine,

Thanks for the reminder but yesterday at the Piers Diesel Research Inc. First Gen Bombing Party the KDP on my truck was laid to rest. We also tried to do the same thing to BCaldwell's 91 CTD but unfortunately it had started coming out so the truck will be going back to Piers's shop to remove the cover and have it fixed. So that is first hand knowledge that yes it does happen to our First Gen Trucks.
