i guess the jigs are too scattered to find one to use, at least in the south anyways, so i think i might as well try the tab method... . i have rebel's sketch (thanks rebel for posting that), and think i can make me the tab thingy, but would love to have some step by step instructions if anyone is willing to share that... if you could email me i would greatly appreciate it... . i have all the numbers for the gaskets so a few instructions would top it off..... thanks in advance... .

Dustoff, there's a jig here in FL right now! However, after reading all these threads about "what if's", I ordered a chrome-moly tab... . just to be sure!

Dustoff,

Rebel will sell you the tab complete with info for reasonable. Just email him. Just did mine this weekend, worked great.

Horse, how was the install?? It sure looks like a bear down in there... . are the instructions/pictures alright? How long did it take you? Thanks. Brian

I had been sitting on my new front seal for maybe a year and a half  then this slew of KDP threads got me motivated. When gitchesum posted these pics, it helped me understand it a whole lot better, thanks gitchesum. R. ebel includes a detailed step by step instruction sheet but no pics.

Even with a fan wrench, my fan bolt was not breaking loose so I just removed the four bolts holding the bracket on. Like everyone says, the hardest part is keeping the seal even when you press it into the front cover. By the way, my pin would not drive in flush. It stuck out maybe 1/16" so I put a washer under the tab bolt so the tab would not have to bend.

It took me more than four hours only because I serviced my cooling system at the same time. Well sort of. Should have checked that lower hose I got mail order.
