KDP Party in Antelope Valley 3/1/03 *** NEW DATE! ***

We expect to be receiving a KDP jig next week, and our local chapter is having a KDP party Saturday, March 1, 2003.

The event will be held in Littlerock, which is near Palmdale, California. Palmdale is about an hour from Los Angeles.

If you're interested, please post or send me a PM. We have lots of room for trucks and parking, and will be having a bar-b-que during the day.

Schedule subject to change based on availability of KDP kit. I will follow up this post with a confirmation or retraction depending on the kit.

Edit: Due to scheduling difficulties, we have changed the date to Saturday, March 1, 2003.

We will abort the party if there is an earthquake or rain, neither of which is likely, but possible, as this is, after all, Southern California.

Ethdee,

Responding again. Should be available 3/1. Please reply again (with directions) if show is on. My wife will be arriving in town tomorrow for a couple of months. Please let us know if we can bring anything to supplement the "eats".

This event is shaping up! Too bad the weather isn't cooperating. Even if it doesn't rain Saturday, the ground might be too wet and the desert too cold to have any fun doing this. We've got sixteen interested parties so far, and I have the kit in hand. I'm shopping for a few consumables, and perhaps parts to augment the kit. It's a nice kit, the detailed instructions look easy to follow, and I've been told that one can do the complete job in about an hour and a half. I believe the setup and teardown can be done concurrently on all trucks, and we can pass around the kit as needed. I'm still working on a suggested tool list, should you care to bring your own. It'll be a short list, from the looks of things.

I've collected e-mail addresses from most that have asked about this, and I'm sending updates as they occur. I'll post any e-mails that I send to this thread as well.

We'll make a decision by tomorrow night as to whether to postpone the event. If so, it'll likely be a week postponement.

More news when it breaks...

We've added a few names to the list since we've started, and it occurred to me that many of you haven't seen the KDP kit. I've attached a picture to this message.

The weather report still calls for rain on Saturday, so I've a hunch we'll postpone. As I said before, we'll decide by 6 P. M. tonight.

I think it's likely that we'll postpone until Sunday, March 9, 2003.

Hello, KDPers!

We are on for Saturday, March 1, 2003. We will be open for KDP neutering from 7:00 A. M. to 5:00 P. M, weather permitting - and the latest weather report looks good! Well, tolerable, anyway.

Our hosts are providing a barbecue, others are bringing soda and who knows what, so come on down (or up or over) and get your KDP neutered!

I'll be there with the kit and all the consumables we need. You won't need much more than I've already told you in the way of hand tools. We'll have electricity, air, and cordless drills to get the job done.

I have e-mailed, PM'd, or called all those I know that want to attend. Just send me a PM if you haven't been in touch and would like to attend; I'll send you the info kit.

See you Saturday!
