Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) KDP repair in Calif.?

Any Shops in the Southern Calif. area that do the KDP repair? I am in Ventura county, about an hour up the coast from LA. Thanks in advance, Marty

Another KDP killed... ... Thanks to Reb at Reb's Hot Rod Garage in Riverdale, CA. Reb is an ace mechanic, with the help of his brother, they did the KDP fix in about an hour. I think it could be a new TDR record! Not only a great mechanic, but Reb and his family are super nice people, it sure was great to meet them. Thanks to TDR I was able to. Thanks again Reb! Marty

Good job but no record! I did one in 32 minutes from hood up to down, but this was the third one of the day, all the tools were out and the owner was elsewhere. Another motivation was that it was almost lunchtime and I was very hungry. 45 minutes to an hour is about average for most folks.

32 mins, is that pulling the fan, cover, changing cover gasket, front seal, making the tab, and putting it all back together with no air tools. If so, u were FLYIN'!, lol. I tab the pins. I like to see the problem, and don't trust the jig, . . but thats me, . . not saying it doesn't work.

u know, ... that would be a funny contest at some of these TDR events, ... fastest KDP fix. Boy, parts and tools would be flyin' all over the place. Don't think i'd want to do it in a competition.

I was thinking the same thing. If I had extra nuts and bolts and could just let the air wrench fling them it would probably cut ten minutes off a jig fix.

i could do the fix, but your cost would probably be dependent on how much i won/loss the night before,lol. Odds are u'd be lucky, since i'm still playin' on Reno's money, ... . but then again, u know how those odds go.
