I’m going to be helping a friend tab a KDP on a 98- 24 valve. Has anybody tabbed a 24 valve. I can only get information and directions for a 12 valve. If someone out therehas tabbed a 24 valve could you give me any tips. If someone has tabbed both a 24 valve and a 12 valve, could you tell me if there is differences. Any advice would be appreciated. Pictures would be a bonus. I have decided to tab instead using the jig because I don’t have a time frame for doing the job and don’t want to tie up a jig.

Thanks.

Jeff.

Fan nut removal?

Need to get the gear case off to tab the KDP... . I have the fan nut holding me back at the moment. What is the best way to get it off? The fan is off which was more than likely a big mistake because now I have nothing stopping the housing from spinning.

What size socket is the fan nut?

Remove the 4 10MM bolts

Just Un-do the 4 10MM bolts holding the Fan Pulley Assembly to the block, and then pull the fan, Pulley and bearing up and out.

I agree 100% here, we also had to take out the pulley bolts to be able to move the pulley out of the way of the one 10mm bolt that is behind the pulley. This is a whole lot easier than trying to remove the fan by itself
