Well thanks to all and this forum for the info and guidance regarding the KDP. The dowel was protruding 3/16th from the case and pushed in easily. Very glad I did this project. Also changed the thermostat, belt, cover gasket, and crank seal during it. Thanks to all and what a great forum.
