Having read enough about the various methods of solving the KDP problem, and also waiting WAY too long to address mine, I have this to say;
You owe it to yourself to take that front cover off the engine to check the gear case bolts. Every one of mine was loose and I can't imagine any others of similar mileage that aren't. It really came home to me just how easily the KDP or a case bolt could bring your world crashing down around you, as I looked at the uncovered case. It is filled with gears and one stray piece of metal would mean thousands of dollars to repair. If you don't feel yourself up to the job, please take it someplace you trust to do it for you. You can't spend any better money to help the million mile engine make it to that goal.
