I know this has been talked about over and over but I would like to hear your thoughts on this. My daughter has taken over my 01 to go to college and it don't look like I will ever get it back. I'm looking into buying my 96 1 ton back that has 212000 trouble free miles on it. With this many miles should I still be concernd about the KDP?

My 94 had 300k on it when I found out about this problem when I got in there, it had not moved at all, but now it never will. It only took about 3 hrs and $28 for a front seal that to me was cheap peace of mind.

E-mail me at -- email address removed -- for instructions on how to install a blocking tab for the KDP.

When I bought my truck with 50,000 miles on it, the kdp was the first thing I did. When we opened it up it was hanging 3/4's of the way out. I don't regret fixing it for one minute and I especially thank my neighbour who warned me about it and regretably didn't fix his in time. His KDP fell out at around 140,000 miles and cracked his timing cover.

After talking to someone that had one fall out.

I was happy to have put the time and money into fixing it.

It wasn't that hard, and not that time consuming.

If I buy another one, it will be the first thing I do.
