Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Kdp

Guys,

I need your help in trying to help a friend. He bought a 98 CTD new. I was telling him about the KDP (just killed mine..... thanks - with the tab) and told him to send the info off the plate to me. He did not send the CPL #, which is what I live and breathe by on my gensets, so I don't know if he has a 12 or 24 valve, here is the info he sent me, can any of you determine if which he has?

You could ask him to count the valve covers. Anyway, some of the '98 24 valvers have the older gearcase so the KDP might be a problem no matter which one he has.

Like Joe said, it doesn't matter, both 12 and 24 valve '98 may have the pin problem. The only way to know is the remove the gear case cover.
