Just got done using the KDP jig created by CPFF, and wow was it easy. I did my 96, which had no signs of KDP creepage, that went smooth as silk. If an angle drill is available, you dont even have to take out the rad overflow bottle.
But, I want to mention this to 98/99 24v people. We also did my dad's 99 24v. The KDP was out a little more than 1/16" into the drill hole cavity. Luckily we jammed a screwdriver in there and pushed the pin out of the way so we could finish the job. But, the truck was built in 6/99, which is right around the cutoff for 2000 builds. Which means even a LATE model 99 had a problem with the KDP, and a 24v at that. Just wanted to give you 98/99 24v guys a heads up. Possibly even the 2000's may be at risk. Wouldnt want to see 3-4k of damage to an engine when a 1. 5hr job could secure it.
Anyways, THANKS CPFF, thanks Blake, thanks TDR for this quick and easy method of fixing a possibly nightmare.
