Been discussed many times I’m sure but if they tell you you used the wrong oil ot didn’t do it right what’s not make them void the warranty Really

comrade - just keep a log and the receipts etc. i also take photos in addition to noting the date of service performed by me, and the mileage. cheers! :)

As long as you keep records and receipts is is against federal law for them to deny warranty because you didn't use the dealer.

They have to prove you used the wrong oil or didn't do the service correctly.
Unless you actually did screw it up royally, they'll never do that.
I've had two major warranty jobs done, and they NEVER even asked me about what maintenance was done to my truck.
It would have to be glaringly obvious that maintenance was neglected before they would give you a problem about it.

I have Delvac 5 40 synthetic the good stuff but I have no receipts I have a soil 140 w severe duty gear grease etc Bought with a credit card. I guess I have that as a receipt

I keep a log but I don't keep receipts.

All you really need. The one time a dealer questioned me about maintenance for warranty, as soon as I pulled out my log book that had entries for everything (fuel, oil, brakes, etc) done to the truck they dropped that line of questioning. Didn't ever look at the book.

It's more important to save your fuel receipts and fuel filter receipts. A credit card statement may do as pumps are always out of printer paper anymore around here.

I buy ONE oil filter at a time every 6 months for proof of oil changes. (Yours is likely 1 year not 6 months like 2018) I have the miles and date written on the oil filter flap I save. (And any other work done like air filter, diffs, engine replacement, etc) It becomes a log of oil filter flaps. I also do engine oil samples that have miles and dates on them.

I kept a log in the owners manual of all routine service I did, with date, mileage, oil used and a note that I performed the service etc.

If you are using 140 AMZ/OIL SevereGear that’s a bit heavy for a 4th gen.

I tow HEAVY at 35k combined and use 75-110 rear but use 75-90 front.
