In my never ending quest for the "right" tire, I came across these. Just wondering if anybody is running them and how you like them. I'm looking at them in a 285/75/16. Thanks.

I'm running a set of MSRs on my truck right now. I've got the 285s mounted on the stock 16x8 rims. I like them a lot.

They don't have any road noise to speak of. They have a good tread that cleans out pretty easily in the mud and it doesn't pick up many rocks. The tread material is pretty soft, but I got about 40K out of my last set. Could have gone more if I would have rotated the tires more often.

I have a set on my 77 powerwagon in 285/75/16. They haven't seen alot of mileage yet but seem to perform well. Great on logging roads and the bit of snow that we get here. Not sure how great they would be on ice. They are not to noisy for having an aggressive tread. Most people that I have come across that have them are pleased. My wife thinks they look cool for whatever that's worth.

I ran a set of the AWR's on a 4x4 that I had and they worked great. They worked great in mud, snow and dry conditions and also I put 40,000 on them before I got rid of the truck and they still had a lot of tread left. If I had a 4x4, I would put a set on it without a second thought. . Very well pleased... .

Paul,

I was wondering the same thing in regard to running the MSR tires on my Ram.

My dad has a set in 285/75/16 on his 89 F-250 and they work very nicely and seem to be wearing very good. I had a set on my 88 F-150 in 33x9. 5/15 and they did well, except I think they wore out a little early. But there is a big difference between the two sizes of tires -- the 285s have much more tread with much larger knobs in the pattern.

I would recommend the 285s and may try them on my Ram.

I had a set of Parnelli Jones tires (same thing as Kelly Springfield MSR - even looks exactly the same) on my truck for over 70,000 miles, and they still could have gone a little longer. Can't speak to the mud handling capabilities as I never really had them off road. They did well in the snow when I went back to Missouri however.

I've bought six of them in 255/85/16.

Two were bought because of irrepairable holes in the sidewall on one and the tread on another. Unknown road hazards.

I just got a set off Dunlop RV rovers (or something like that).

I like the tread pattern better than the Kelly's. A little more siping, a little better "bite". Time will tell how they wear.

I was not too impressed with the lifespan of the Kellys, but they had real good traction.
