Anyone have any trouble with the key FOB sometimes not locking or unlocking the doors? When it does this it takes 3 or 4 times to get it to work? And this is standing right next to the truck and its done this since I got it.

I have the same problem, but haven't found out what the deal is... I'm guessing the battery in the fob.

I noticed if I held the button, instead of just pressing it, the truck would unlock. It got worse as time went by, but holding the button always worked.
Then I traded the '10 in and the new fob for the '06 does it as well.

I have the same problem. I look like an idiot swinging that thing around clicking it like a dead phaser from Star Trek.

Just fixed mine today, same problem.

Take the fob apart, helps to take out the 'actual' key first, small flathead works good to pop the halves apart.

With alcohol and a q-tip, clean the board contacts and the reverse side of the buttons. Make sure theres no hazy residue/etc. .

Lightly apply di-electric grease to both sides of the contacts. (avail at yer fav auto parts store)

I`ve also used very small amounts of Radio-Shack TV Tuner cleaner/lube with good results. Dont skip the di-electric tho.

Changing the battery while in there is a good idea also. Size is a single "2032"

I put a piece of clear tape over my panic button contact, I hate that friggin thing.

good luck

edit--- there is also a TSB/recall/etc for the 'wireless node' or something that I had done to my truck. . didnt seem to solve my problem, but might fix someone else's problem

Been having the same problems with both my fobs, thanks for the tip on cleaning. I already disabled the panic button with a small piece of paper, really hate that thing.

I also will try this... . I have just been dealing with it and spending a lot of money of batteries that I didn't really need!

In the thread of about a year ago, several of us reported various key fob related problems. I am still having them. And a year ago I reported this issue to Dodge Customer Service. They indicated they had at that time no other complaints.

I find that if I relock the doors with the fob button it will usually unlock on the next try.

Thanks for the cleaning tip!

OK i have come to a conclusion. I park in a 3 sided metal carport, it only does this when parked there, no where else. It always works from inside the house to the carport. I think its caused, at least in my case, from activating the keyless while inside the metal structure.

So, I'm in awe of anyone using very small anounts of Radio Shack contact cleaner. All the freakin cans I ever had would drown small to medium rodents. I reckon one could spray a Q-Tip and judiciously apply. Sorry for the interloping, but this came up from a 3-Gen search as both my fobs just started working intermittently at the 9. 5 year mark. New fob battery and a lot of contact spray inside didn't help. I'm thinkin it's the receiver end in the truck. :-laf

My fob has not hiccuped for perhaps two years now. Maybe it had to go through a "warm up" cycle of a year or so? I never did get around to cleaning contacts, etc. because it did work whenever I needed it, but frequently not on the first or second try.

But my rig still suffers from the "hard shift" issue I reported on another thread. Other than that, a terrific ride.
