I have 3 fobs for my ‘14 which has “keyless go” aka the button to start, and I started changing batteries last year. You will get a battery low warning for that. Very simple to change.
Don’t forget that with the old fobs, they only turn on when a button is pushed, like a tv remote. These new fobs are always emitting a signal.
I don’t think the truck emits anything. The truck has a system of antennas. To know if you’re approaching the vehicle, or are sitting in it.That is what I was going to post! Or it is listening for a ping from the truck!
Does AMZ/OIL make replacement batteries?I change ALL my batteries once a year. Cooking thermometer, MC and Truck fobs smokies etc.
I had a '15 Journey and it started giving me that message less than a year old. It just ate batteries from then on.......?? It's gone now. It turned into a Grand Caravan. My '11 Ram 2500 CTD has the FOB that inserts like a key. Still on original Battery.............Truck is coming up on 4 years old and today I saw a EVIC message about FOB battery low. What are people seeing for FOB battery life? Search did not turn up much. I think my DW 2004 Buick Rainier is still on the OEM FOB batteries.
Did the message appear BEFORE or AFTER the battery change?Just changed the battery on my model year 14, but each time I insert the fob I get a message “Wrong FOB”. Is there something else going on beside the battery?
