is there a way to tell if the truck came with this option are not? i do only received one key when i bought the truck. would like to get keyless entry.

My 99 has a black box right under the dash by the ash tray. You can hear the relays clicking when you toggle the door locks. If that box is there it came with keyless. You can also call up to your local dealer and give them your vin. They will be able to tell you.

well i have the black box next to the ash try. next question is were is a good place to get the remotes? if i get one off of ebay how do i program it? thanks for the help.

Might as well go to the dealer and ask them to run a function 14,it will let you know if you are equipped with key less entry or not. You will also have to have the dealer program your remotes.

All trucks should have that box as it's your CTM (Central Timer Module) which controls the interior option functions such as lighting and door locks and such. The ones with RKE Remote keyless entry will have one marked HIGH. The ones without are marked LOW I believe. If it has the low CTM you can add RKE for about $185. Contact Chris at Five Star Autos 800-642-7033. He can get the kit for you.

some of us never lock the doors in the first place, so RKE isnt that big a deal :-laf

OK, I cant say NEVER. And it would be nice if I did have it. But locks only stop honest thives anyway. :D

Well some people have to venture into the big bad city and don't live in a nice place like you and I do :) I do however have to go to the big city to get my pay though and the truck sometimes goes along to scare the city slickers :)

I want a different RKE

Usualy the red truck is in the yard with key in IGN. And oh do I know of the big bad city.

Have you left yours unattended at Town & wall Sts? (the alley under Old Lazarus) At 2am? Ive seen guys with (stolen) shopping carts waiting for me to turn my back to remove any thing metal from my truck to take to recycle for booze $. [/IMG]#ad

This truck has seen some nasty parts of town. I'm talkin' gunshots and police sirens before sunset parts of town. (That was near the fairgrounds on fields ave between 5th & 11th)

Reading has a new tool/work box that pins ALL doors at the push of the remote button. THATS what I want. I can deal with the cab doors... .

Maybe I need a . 38 under the seat-- or under my belt...

thanks for the help guys. i will have to check to see on my box if it is the right one. i do have to work in the big city, at the airport no less. doors stay locked! always!

When I bought my truck, same thing. The dealer shorted me them. I cost me $35 a piece. I bought two them from the dealer, then dealer had to program the truck to the remote. It should have been Free, Were's my floor mate's, Were's my jack and lug wrench. Why was the lift pump dead? Were was my Ifinity sound system? Weres my second key? Dealer's are a rip off.
