The keyring eye on the remote for my wifes '96 Cirrus wore through so I can't carry it on my ring any more. This is the second time I've needed a new remote. I was wondering if there is a way to program the remote for my Ram to fit her car. It would be great for both of us not to have two remotes on our ring besides the idea of paying $55 for a new remote and $60 for "dealer programing" . Has anyone tried it? Someone told me that all programing consists of is turning key on and of so many times and then hitting the remote. Does anyone know how these things are programed? '96 Cirrus and 97 Ram. Thanks

one remote

I wish that were possible, I want to do the same thing to my '01 and the wife's '00 durango. Everyone that I have talked to says that it can't be done:( . Maybe someone else has a solution?

maybe this will help

This isn't exactly what you were asking for, but you can replace the plastic cover for your remote, and not the whole thing.

Mine has broken twice where it attaches to the key ring and I just replaced the cover. It costs about 5 bucks and you just remove the "guts" from yours and put it in the new cover.

looking at mine now there is a little sticker that says www.onlyremotes.com and a phone number of 866-573-6683.

If I remember correctly they have 2 button, 3 button and 4 button replacement covers.

No need to have it reprogrammed since you only replace the plastic.

Good luck
