Kilby Enterprises Condenser Guard

I just wanted to let everyone know that last week I was at Kilby Enterprises in Burbank, CA. I went there so Brad Kilby could install a condenser guard on our brand new 2006 DRW 4x4. Well, needless to say that I was very impressed with his shop and the guard they provided to us. The install was very easy and took him about 15 minutes. The guard totally protects the condenser from damage that has all but ruined the condenser on my 03 off road truck. Thanks to Brad and all his guys for being so helpfull. Next on my list is an on board air system for the Tow Rig. Then some horns..... Brake... . Hmmm. The list just grows.

Thanks again,

Greg DRC

I have the Kilby Condenser Guard on my 03, it's one of the best mods I've done so far. I wish I had put it on day one of ownership though. I also cut out some black window screening and zip tide it to the guard front, it works great keeping the small bugs out of the condenser, and I have had no problems with the truck over heating unloaded. I have not been able to test it towing a load though with the screening. :D

Installation was done exactly has described in the instructions. The rattle didn't start or 6 months after install, everything is tight, already checked that.

Pull it back off and run a bead of silicone around the edges and then reinstall. It's not like your going to remove the guard often. Or you could use some door weather stripping.

"Dude", I bought the same guard, and you did'nt come over to my place and visit while you were in the neighborhood

Side note to this topic: On the 3G trucks, there is a slight difference between the 2005 models and the prior ones in terms of the bolt placement. If you have a 2005 mke sure it is for that year. I had to redrill and file the proper clearences for mine as it was made for an earlier 3G model. Not abig deal, but it did make intallation a little longer.

The basic difference is that the latter model has the mouting bracket holes lower than the ealier models. I found it easier to re- install the hardware from under the truck as the condeser hoses did not allow room to raise the condenser up above the bumper.

I am not sure if the '05 model is the same for '06.
