If you search hard enough here on the TDR forum, you'll find that killer dowel pin damage has been reported in a 2002 model. But if it's true, it seems to be a very rare occurrence.
Just to make sure, I pulled the timing gear cover off my own 2001 this year and found it had the modified timing gear housing which positively prevents the dowel pin from being able to come out. I can sleep better now.
While you'll never know for sure unless you pull the timing gear cover to take a look, the odds are against a 2002 having the problem. Are you a gambling man?
Thanks for the info, and no I am not a gambling man, if any bad can happen it happens to me. Even when I do all the recommended service and others do none, I still am the one who has all the problems. Thanks again
