In our recent travels, we had the good fortune to meet Automotive journalist, Mark Williams of pickuptrucks.com, and Kent Sunderling of mrtruck.com. More from Williams and Sunderling in a minute.

These two names may sound familiar to you. They were a part of the team that did a 3500 series pickup comparison back in September of 2011 (covered in our Issue 75, pages 66 - 68) and a 2500 comparison in the Fall of 2010 (covered in Issue 71, page 56).

Both of the articles were done for the www.pickuptrucks.com website. The 3500 evaluation was titled, "Diesel Shootout." My observations of these two tests is that they were (are) as Consumer Reports-like as you will find. The authors give you "just the facts," and there is no bias. To add further credibility to their evaluations, the "Hurt Locker" test was done using the SAE pickup truck testing standards (TDR 75, page 64 and Issue 80, pages 48 - 49).

So what is new from writer Williams and tester Sunderling? While we did not fare so well in the two previous www.pickuptrucks.com tests, I have good news for the Ram faithful. Two weeks ago, Mark Williams told me to be on the lookout for their "King of Beasts" shootout. It has now been released to the public.

Here is the link to the article. Take a few minutes to enjoy:
