I can't find the KN RE0880 air filter anywhere. I looked in the catalog and called Summitt, must have gotten a new guy--he said they don't carry it. But from reading posts here, I know they do.

anyone have a part number or web-page that has it listed?

I'm running the stock air box with OEM K&N filter. I'm going to eliminate that with the RE 0880. Maybe, Maybe, a Psychotty later, I just don't like the 4. 5" hole in the cowl. (Might make a custom Aluminum air-cannister for the RE 0880)

Any thoughts?

Thanks--found it!

Does anyone know exactly where an old post can be found about the homemade psycotty a member made?

I seen it before, but now I can not find it.

Anyone know?

Thanks

Thanks Illflem--

Thats one that I seen. I also seen a post about a homemade canister made from PVC, or Aluminum similar to a psycotty.

Another post on a guy from CA that made a custom aluminum canister that had "R-something racing" on it. he had a white dodge. He didn't have a hole in the cowl, just openings made into the canister. He even posted a picture.

Can't find that one. . still looking

Thanks

I found that Summit had the best deal on the 0880, Summit Racing, ordering over the internet you don't have to deal with new guys.
You can make a cone to fit over the 0880 out of sheet aluminum or galvanized steel. A six inch stove pipe from the hardware store will also work. Just cut it to a cone and pop-rivet together.
It is important to leave an air space at both ends,if you just have an opening at just the small end the 0880 can collapse,at least that's what Ph--Scotty says.

bowhunter:

I believe that "white truck" you are
talking about with the "custom aluminum
canister" is Dave Perea's truck. It was
featured on the cover of Issue #30 (TDR)
and the article on the truck was on page
#116. I don't know what his e-mail
address is though. Maybe one of the other
members will see your post and be able to
help you.
