Hi guys,

Upon return from a 200 mile trip, my 1996 five speed 3500 with 125,000 miles developed a loud knocking noise. The noise seems to be coming from the area of it's injector pump. (It's not the lift pump, I replaced it). I'm wondering if this noise has occurred for anyone else and if it has, do they think that the truck could be driven another 150 miles to my closest competent Cummins dealer without causing additional damage?

Thanks for your help, Raildawg

might be a fuel knock a bad injector does the truck have a bad idle  o don't drive it

Nope, The truck runs perfect! No loss of power, starts easy, idles smooth, runs great..... it's just a lot noisier compared to it's last nine years. It's real puzzler, but it's too loud to ignore.
