Taking off from a stop sign this morning my truck started knocking. Is that a sign of an injector going bad?

It can be, is it a hard deep knock that sounds like a rod bearing failed? If it does, you should get it checked out as soon as possible as damage to the piston and cylinder can occur quickly. Does the RPM also seem to hang up there for a second or two when letting off the throttle?

I did rev it up this morning after I pulled over and it did hang up a little, but I've had it do that before. I fueled up about 5 miles before it started and I thought that maybe I put gasoline in it. But, I'm sure that I didn't. My welding machine runs on gas and I filled it too and then restarted the pump and got the correct nozzle. Then I thought maybe the fuel truck made a mistake and put gasoline in the diesel tank and stopped at the store where I fueled and asked. Nope, can't happen and no one else has said anything about it. I pulled the dipstick and checked the oil level and it seemed to be right on the mark. I pulled the oil filler cap off and started it and it didn't have noticeable blow-by. When I got home from work, I revved it up to 2000 rpms and my boost gauge read about 5 pounds and I don't know if that is about right for an unloaded engine. I usually run 8-10 going down the hiway. And, thanks, Sag2 for the response!
