I have recently been looking into burning vegtable oil in my 99 Dodge. I read an article about putting a tank in bed of truck and starting truck on diesel and when veg oil heats up to temp then flip the switch and its pure veg oil. Yes where to get it, used oil at restaurants. filter it and you are set. I know therre is a lot more involved , since i do not own a restaurant and the supplies I will need to round up. But does anyone know or have tried burning veg oil in a Dodge Diesel? I am not sure how the VP44 will hold up. Thats another question. Can the VP44 be upgraded or replaced with another VP? Well I am guessing that if I bought a tank, filters, lines, heat exchanger and pump for the veg conversion I would have about $1200-1500 in it, but would certainly pay for itself in a few months. I would like to see your guys feedback on this so I can decide to go to the next step and try it. I know this is a growing topic with the price of fuel today.
