Alright here goes... . One day a pushed the factory mirror heat button to de-ice my factory OEM non-tow mirrors on my truck and mins later i had a truck full of smoke. . (Guess it's a common problem come to find out in the 02's). . Wire's running from the mirror heat switch down to wire harness plug melted... Luckily NO damage done to any other wires... But now of course i have no heated mirrors anymore... .
I am getting ready to buy a set of 3rd gen style tow mirrors(kool Vue) and i know they just plug right in but being i have no wires for heat. So therefore i'm gonna have to run it to a toggle switch. I know the wires that run from the mirror through the door are fine so i am gonna have to tap in there with a toggle switch...
Now the question is can i just run power to the switch and to the wires for the mirror or do i need a resistor or relay or something inline with it?
