2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Kore leveling kit - variable rate springs

I see on their website that Kore's leveling kit for the 2nd gen trucks is now using their variable rate springs instead of the HD springs. I read a post that implied that the variable rate springs exerted more pressure when compressed to a bind, and thus could damage the spring mounts on a 2nd gen because the mounts are weaker than a 3rd gen mount.



For those who are using the variable rate springs on 2nd gen trucks, have you had any problems? How do you like them? How is the ride compared to the stock springs?

Last month I put the full recon kit on my truck and I'm very happy with the front variable rate springs. I have not heard about damage to the spring towers. The ride is much better and I will not go back to the OEM springs that had sagged, plus I found out that my front shocks were in need of replacement.

The force on the spring mounts is caused by the load on the truck's suspension. Springs cushion the shock, but not the amount of pressure. You are better off with springs that have not stacked solid because that will give an instant shock to the mounting pads with no cushioning spring action. The KORE variable rate springs go from softer than stock at first, for better ride, to 3 times stiffer than stock so they continue to provide spring action under very heavy forces on the truck.
