KORE is now offering stock replacement shocks made by Fox.

We have had a lot of interest in stock height replacement shocks for our 2500 CTD trucks. Although most people are interested in leveling out the front of their trucks, there has been a void in the availability of a good performance shock designed as a stock replacement. We are now providing the Dodge 4x4 community with a stock length, remote reservoir, 2. 0 Fox shock. These shocks are valved specifically for the softer stock coil springs. These are stem top front shocks similar in appearance to our popular Chase shocks. The rears are direct bolt in replacements as well. Shocks come with reservoir mounts and hardware.

Driving characteristics are drastically improved over stock. Here is an article in Off Road magazine illustrating these new shocks. Dodge Lift Kit from KORE featured in Silver Standard Ram - Our New Daily Driver Built for All-Around Service by Phil Howell

So the article says that these new shocks are actually softer in compression, but stronger in rebound? I will be trying the mopar "988" front springs in my '07. 5 as soon as the dealer has the 6. 7 running again. Very high spring rate and a little over an inch of lift. I will need shocks, and I am wondering whether the new direct replacement shocks or the standard 2. 0 resevoir shocks would be a better match for the heavy springs with only an inch of lift. Seems like with heavy springs I could do with less compression, and more rebound would also be good . . .

HLewallen,

If you plan on using a coil that is both stiffer and taller than stock, I would recommend using the shock we sell with the Chase system. You are right in that the valving and length would better fit your application. The Chase shock is lighter on compression to compliment stiffer, taller, aftermarket type springs. For use with the stock coils, the new, shorter direct replacement shock would be best.

The mopar coils I am talking about is no taller than the oem spring in an unloaded condition - so a longer shock would actually probably let the coil fall out of the bucket. It sounds like the stock replacement valving would at least be better than, say, the 5100 Bilsteins?

I love the KORE shocks with my stock springs! It looks like I'll be getting another '07 Quad Cab. If I do, the first modification will be another set of KORE shocks.

HLewallen,

That is correct about the shock length. A shorter shock will limit droop travel more appropriately if the coils are stock height. They will provide much more control than the 5100.

Maybe Phil Howell can describe the difference he experienced. His was the first truck they were installed on.
