Anyone running a KORE suspension system? They are pretty pricy but sound like they are well engineered.

I too am trying to figure out how a set of springs and some pricey shocks constitute triple the price of other systems.

If you just want a "lift kit", here's a link I used in the past to compare pricing... .

I ultimately settled on the KORE Pace system and love it! When I bought it, it was a little over $12 hundred. I got the coils, (4) Bilstein 5100s, the mini-packs, the bump stops and all the hardware. I still feel like that's an excellent value. I don't off-road at 60mph but the ride and handling characteristics on any surface or in any situation is greatly improved.

Thanks for the information guys. I'm not so interested in lift as I am improved performance. As I compare the various systems, KORE doesn't seem so over priced.

The Fox Shocks retail for around $250. 00-$300. 00, that makes the Kore coil springs and mini packs priced higher than giraffe p***y!

I just did a quick check on price. The Fox 2. 5 Pro series run $375 to $395 @ Off Road Warehouse. Did you find them for less elsewhere?

I have the Kore Pace and got it from Greg Boardman. This system is great, i did not go crazy with the Race system do to dinero but figured i could always buy the shock later on on if i start beeting my truck up like Kent and Greg do.

I forgot how good the ride was until i took i ride in a friends stock suspension truck. The difference is night and day. i do not regret my decision with this suspension and would do it again in a heart beat. Truck is so much fun to drive.

Darkhorse if you have any quest. give me a pm. Also Greg offers 10% i think off to TDR members. Oo.

Thanks, Junior. I've got most of my questions answered especially reading what Kent had to say on race-dezert.com . I don't mind paying more if I get more. This looks like a case of "you get what you pay for".

BTW, we share a birthday. :D

I installed the PACE and it took two weekends (My choice) and Greg at DRC was great! I have already put a order in for the Tires I want as well. Lift kit, Naw I swear by the KORE system Pace, Chase or Race... . You will NOT spend your money better!

i got kind 2. 5 shocks that are custom valved from don thuren www.thurenfabracation.com and the fox and king shocks are basically the same shock and i go don's shock mounts and they dont look as cool at the kore ones but i would be willing to bet they are atleast as strong if not stronger i have the kore springs in the front and i have carrier leafs in the back that eliminate the stock lift block my truck is riding great now in the front and i still need to work a little with the rear the springs are a little stiff but i think its more of a shackle angle problem so im going to make soem custom leaf hangers when i have a chance

I've been running the KORE race system for about 3 years on my 2002. Is it more expensive than a "lift kit", yes. Is it worth it? In my opinion, absolutely.

Here's the process I went through before purchasing.

I live on a dirt road in a county that has bad paved roads. I also go to Baja several times a year for a week or two at a time. I knew the stock suspension wasn't going to give me the performance that I wanted. I started looking into aftermarket systems and couldn't find much at the time. I decided that I was going to have to come up with something myself. I started running the numbers and came up with the following. 4 King shocks are going to run about $400-$500 each. A new set of front coils are going to run about $400-$500. A new set of leaf springs are going to run about $700. Now I have to find some hillbilly to weld up some bracket to mount that aftermarket front shock to the tower (unknown costs). I also have to get a quick lesson on shock valving, spring rates, etc. If I screw something up, I have to fix it and I have to pay for it. I figured that I was going be spending around $3000 to do it myself and hope that I get it right. I was about to take the plung and literally, the day I was going to call and order springs, I saw an ad for KORE Suspension. I called Kent and the rest is history. I had new suspension four days later. Now, I have a truck that can outrun just about anything in the desert (except Kent, Greg, and a few of you). If you are going to use your truck off road, or on dirt roads, then it is worth every penny. There are plenty of routes you can go with suspension, but if you only want to do it once, then, personally, I think KORE is about the best way to go.

I have the Kore Chase suspension and I'm very happy with it. I have never driven the Baja but sometimes I think these Michigan roads come pretty close. The truck handles all the bumps and dips with no problems. When I drive my stock '96 and then drive the '05 with the Chase it's an unbelievable difference.

I put a KORE Pace on this spring. Greg at DRC was very helpful, returning my calls immediately with good info. No, I don't hardcore 4 wheel, but do travel on dirt and washboard roads for camping, fishing, and hunting. My tail end used to step out on the wb, but no more. Even poor paved surfaces are feeling good. When your wife notices the difference, you know something is good! :-laf I also tow a pretty good sized trailer and it tows very nicely. If I could have afforded the Chase or Race, I would have loved to have those fancy shock towers and shocks! That falls under the "don't need it, want it" theory of truck improvement. Kind of like most the other bombs that I've done! ;)
