In March my wife and I were on a trip with our 1992 W-250 CTD & our travel trailer when I noticed a small drip under the truck which I traced to the input shaft of the power steering gear. I kept the P/S fluid topped up for the rest of the trip, (used about 1 pint in 2600 mi.) and planned to reseal the gear upon returning home.

While inspecting the gear and related components I noticed slop in the pitman shaft, so, with 324K on the gear, I decided to replace it.

I had read several positive comments on Red Head Steering Gears on various forums, so I decided to contact them.
On 4/14/15 I spoke to Joel at Red Head Steering Gears and placed an order. Three days later, (4/17/15) I had the gear in my hands. I already had the old gear off, so immediately packaged it and shipped it back for the core refund.
On 4/27/15 I received a credit applied to my C/C account for the core amount.
I am extremely impressed by the fast service and follow-up for the core credit. A great company to do business with!

I installed the gear, bled the system without difficulty per the furnished instructions, and have since driven the truck about 1500 mi. and am very impressed with the improvement in the handling of the truck.

I highly recommend Red Head Steering Gears, Inc. both for their customer service and the quality of their product.
