I am posting this vs emailing it since your in CA. And maybe someone else has the same question. I didn't really see anyway to adjust the wastegate on your turbo? Maybe in my haste to get it on. . I over looked it. So far most I can make is about 32psi or so. I want 40psi.

Can you email me or post here how to adjust your wastegate? Can I change the elbow? Wanted to ask before I did anything :) :)

Kat, if you have the elbow w/adj. screw, you can adj. it with the screw, otherwise to increase boost you have to bend the brkts. that the spring is hooked on, increase the spring tension will increase boost. This is what Kurt told me, but I have the 14cm, so yours might be diff. When I tightened the screw, all the way in, my boost went to about 50#, so I backed it out about 1/4 turn to get it down to 40 to 42#, that was pulling a load, now when empty max boost is 39#. Hope this helps.

Kat, YogiBear is right. Just bend the tab and stretch out the spring some to raise boost. I look at the gaps inbetween the coils of the spring and use that as a way to adjust it. I suggest that we alll keep the Hx40's to 40psi or below. So far I haven't had a failure at these settings. Keep in mind also the way we drive can also effect the life of our $$$$$Turbos$$$$.

I cannot emagine the stress that little shaft is experiancing at over 100,000 rpm and we are on and off the Go Pedal. I would add that smooth throttle use is also a Plus in longevity of the Whole Drive Train.

I haven't seen over 35psi yet. I left it as it came out of the box, I haven't touched it yet, wanted to see if it was going to hold up at the strip.

next Sunday i want "just a lil more", can I just change out the elbow on the turbo with a common one used on the HX35's to get a lil more boost??? Then afterwards change it back to the stock elbow you gave me? To preserve turbo life :D

Rather then mess with the spring I think the elbow would be a great "dragstrip" bolt on... ...

What do you think??? What has all your data said when the PSI is too high... . ? 40something? I am talknig intake charge temp.....

I love this turbo... ... ... very interested in the B1 now , with how this one turned out.

As for how me and your turbo performed, check out the Compition Forum.

Kat,

I keep mine KS set at 38Psi. Above that the Drive pressures start climbing faster. I would love to get some dyno time to find the exact sweet spot. I just installed a KS12cm2 back on my truck while I mod the B-1 bomber. I had forgotten how "Kwik" they spool and the sweet sound of the Turbine thru my stacks. I averaged over 90 mph driving from La to Phx yesterday. At one time a NICE 64 Chevy Super Bombed truck challenged me to a top end run ... ..... He held up to the 115 mph run for about three minutes! Later we met up at a truck stop and he said his temps started climbing so he backed off... . You Gotta love our trucks... :D :D :D
