I am in need of new shocks on my 05 and was going to try Bilsteins but got a negative feed back from a former Bilstein user and said the KYB shocks outperformed the Bilsteins hands down. I can get them through Rock auto cheaper than Rancho and Bilsteins also.

I was looking for some other input on them here.

I have run rancho 5000 shocks for years on all my pickups and have never had a set make it past 30-40k miles so I am going to try something different.

Odd comment on the Bilstein's, were they the yellow or silver ones and was the truck lifted?

Try the KYB's and let us know but anything is bound to be better than even a set of new 5000,s I am very pleased with my yellow Bilstein's

2wd 12v ext cab long box with a bed camper on it most of the time. He said he had friends with other vehicles with the same results as he has.

As far as mine it sees trailers and gravel roads a lot, I run 200 miles of washboarded potholed gravel roads a week commuting to work.

Just found this thread from 2nd gen forum with great reviews. I will be ordering a set of KYB gas adjusts for the 05 from rock auto, I think with my 10 ply tires and rough gravel roads the KYB mono maxes will just be too stiff.

Edit

193 bucks shipped for all 4 Gas adjusts!!!!!!!
