Does anyone know the Holly part number for the lift pump on an 03. Sure do not want to pay the robbers @ DC for one. Adding a Cat 3 micron fuel filter this weekend & will replace existing L/P while I am at it. Will; have 2 L/P when installed. Oo.

Thank You

Dennis

I believe the stock LP is manufactured by Carter... . but I can't tell you the part number.

The cummins part # is 3964848

The Chrysler number is 5093135AB

NEW Cummins part# 4089602

I may be wrong, but I don't believe the Holley or Carter are direct replacements, I believe you need a plate of some sort to cap off the existing fuel pump. These pumps act as a pusher pump, mounted on the frame near the fuel tank.

These pumps mount exactly like the stock pump but the inlets/outlets sre different. This isn't normally an issue because most folks go ahead and get rid of all the banjos when replacing the lift pump.

here is a better explanation on a 2nd gen and I'd bet the parts list will work for the 3Gs but I haven't tried it yet.

3rd gen is different than 2nd, 3rd mounts to the back of the filter housing.

Your right GWoody, it is quite abit different the way the pump is set up.

BTW: there is a new Cummins part number which supercedes the last one I posted for the 03' & 04' common rail 3rd generation, fuel transfer (lift) pump. It is: 4089602

You might think about replacing your stock l/p with that fass pump. quite a bit bigger with bigger fuel line. heard the warranty was 3 yrs or 400k miles. Seen a couple on 2nd gens w/ fuel pressure gauges that read 18-20 WOT. I don't think the price difference is that much. FWIW
