Just looking at some different styles of ladder bars... The use will be for sled pulling. . and some Daily Driving. .

The two styles are:

1. Bar with adjustments on one or both ends. . Hemi style adjustment. . pivots at both the axle and the frame.

2. The bar (or bars) mounted solid to the axles with a shackle connection at the frame. . (This is more how the Old style ladder bars were setup. )

The advantage to style 1. is that is will be a little simpler to build... Style 2 might be a little better for daily driving, because if the angle of travel of the axle is a little off the shackle will allow the axle to move some... but will it still do a good enough job at controlling wheel hop???

Opinions???

Thanks,

Bryan

Thanks JW. . I've seen pics of both... never paid enough attention to realize that EEP was using actual 4 Link design...

Anyone know if the shackle is solid mounted to the frame on EEP LB's?? or does it pivot at the frame??

Thanks

Bryan

EEP doesn't use a true shackle - they use like ~1/2" plate mounts at the frame and four separate links.

I will be running a design like your #2 listed above. We'll be welding them up ourselves and running 1. 25" rod ends at all the joints. Will probably build our own shackles out of 1/2" plate...
