Hi,
I finally got fed up enough with the dim headlights on my 2003 Ram. I replaced them with "HID" lamps. I love them. Now I feel that I can see at night. However, I now get a "Chime" and a "Lamp Out" warning. I am not a mechanic but my understanding is that the new HID lamps are different resistance than the originals. The computer does a scan, sees a different resistance, thinks a bulb has burned out, and sounds the warning.
That would be OK if it only happened ocassionally. However, often it goes Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding. That gets to be aggravating real quick.
Any suggestions on how to get this to stop.
I am not about to go back to the original dim headlights.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Glenn
