Lamp Out indicator, oops

I just installed the White Night hitch lights today and now lamp out indicator is on. All lights are working so I assume the lamp out indicator works off the amount of load or resistance on the circuit? Is there a way to fix this? I emailed them about it, but thought I'd check with the experts...

EDIT

Well I changed the headlights to PIAAs as well adn I guess I didn't check out that the high beams don't work for some reason... DOH!!! :-laf

Dave- are you sure the PIAA is a dual filament bulb? Has to be a 9007 equivalent. Either that or the socket wiring is configured differently even though it plugs in.....

I didn't look to see if it was two filaments, but according to the PIAA page for a 02 1500 it indicates low beam but high beam is blank. I don't know if this means no high beam filament or not. It's PIAA part no 19617 and indicates 65/55w ->120/110w on the package so I assume it low/high beam rating.

I guess I need to pull them out and pop in the old ones to be sure the high beams still work and look at the PIAAs closely.

Sure looks like a dual filament bulb on their site, you can even see two in the picture!

Let us know what you figure out... ...

I got the replacement PIAA lights and they work fine. Apparently the first ones were defective. Definitely brighter than stock.

I got the same thing on my truck after I changed the bulbs. I alarmed for a while and then quit. Has not done it for a couple of weeks now.

Did your brights actually work whe thee lamp out indicator was lit? Mine didn't then I put in new PIAAs and they work and no lamp out indicator anymore...

davidclark, when installing your White Night's did you notice that they stuck out from the bumper?? I suppose this is normal? How have they held up over the time from this thread.

Thanks!!!

FYI, you can have the reverse lamps completely removed and they will not set off the lamp out indicator. they do not have the ±2v pulsed through that circuit to check for lamp outs. i don't have any reverse lamps wired into the factory wiring [just the coil side of a relay]
