Looking for some help guys. Driving home last night I heard a chime sound like when the low fuel light comes on. Looking at the dash I did not have any lights on. It started chiming again and the lamp out light was flashing on and off. I got home and checked all my lights. Everything is good. I am driving to work the next morning the same thing happened. I checked everything again and found nothing wrong. I have no idea what to do from here. Anyone have this problem or know what to look for. Thanks in advance for your help.

Jeff, You Need To Start At The Tail-lights And Take The Bulbs Out Of The Housing And See If The Plastic Around The Terminals Has Sparked And Melted And Not Makeing Good Contact. I Had The Same Problem And The Girlfriend Bought New Bulbs For Some Odd Reason And She Took The Tailight Apart And Asked Me If That Was The Problem... So She Actually Found The Problem. If You Have Any Questions Just Shoot... .

I've had that problem a couple of times. The arc will ruin the bulb base without messing up the filament. I took new bulbs and pryed up on the contact wire on the base with my pocket knife. Making a little tighter contact in the socket has helped, no problems in the last 150,000 miles or so.

Ive been having a similar issue. Happens in the morn. but I think it is due to weak batteries.

I've had this happen also. It was one of the tail lamps. Mine was with the filament and not with the base though. It would barely separate causing it to keep fusing back together and separating again. The bulb looked good except you could see a little bit of carbon on one of the filament holders where it kept arcing. I changed the bulbs but it just does the same thing a few weeks down the road.

I have heard that about the only way to make it quit for good is to replace the light bars or whatever you call them (the deals that hold the lamps). I have swapped mine for some new ones and so far I have not noticed the problem.

I too have had this problem off and on.

First it was the driver side tail light at around 20k or so. Opened everything out and noticed the melted and the melted plastic interferes with the contact points. Changed out the bulb and didn't have a problem.

A couple years later now at 97k and I had problems with it again. Took off the tail lights and discovered the same problem on the passenger side.

I'm not sure what's causing it, but it can get annoying. At times it's nearly unbearable and I would rather the light just be out permanently until I can fix it.

Guys thank you so much. I have some maintenace to do this weekend so i am goning take a look at everything you have mentioned. I will let you know what i found. Thanks again.
