Anyone out there know if there are any programs out there and what connectors are needed to hook my laptop up to my 03? Not like I really need it to be, but what the heck why not?! I see the Duramax guys do it all the time, but thats for EFI Live I imagine... .

All's your really going to get are the OBDII signals. Use google search key word OBDII computer you will see some software and cables for what you want to do. My brother has done the same thing with his NSX Acura

I run Alex Pepers stuff. No complaints, but don't expect to get lots of additional parameters - just the standard OBD-II stuff.

I use mine as a monitor whenever the truck is running.

Is the program that hard to figure out or? Also where did you get your obd-ii to usb cable? What programs did you download from there? and which ones do you need?? OBD-2 Vehicle Explorer Scan Tool Browser

It's not real user friendly, but not difficult. I like it because it's pretty honest software - it doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't.

I bought everything I needed from Alex. He has the cables, the connectors, and the software. I always download "Everything: Browser and all below optional files as a self extract full install package".

I'm not actually using a USB cable... I'm using a 9-pin serial port instead. VERY old computer in the truck.

In the gauges part of the program, is there a legend or key as to what all of the abbreviations stand for? Thanks for all of the help!

Honda guys have had lots of support since the import scene opened up. Those guys have Hondata which allows you to write to your modded board. I was actually curious about this since I don't like adding a bunch of piggy back computers to get the results I'm looking for. I will look into Alex Pepers stuff to see if it does what I'm looking for. A couple of my cars have aftermarket ECU's in them and they still function like factory units only they allow complete control and adjustability. I know alot of other guys are using OBDII software to make the needed adjustments for more boost, timing and fuel pressure. Sorry for the rant. Thanks for the info guys.

I'm not sure. What don't you know?

IAT = Intake Air Temperature

MAP = Manifold Absolute Pressure

VSS = Vehicle Speed Sensor
