Folks, I need a favor.

The panel behind the heater slider controls on our Laramie is getting hot. Not just the panel in general, but right where the slots are. And this is the kind of hot that feels too hot for a basically plastic panel and system.

I popped the facia off and looked at the two plugs; they seem fine.

Take a while running for it to happen. Definitely not heat from the heater air or stereo.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Do you have the lights one. Light bulbs get pretty hot. I will check mine on the way to work on Monday morning. The switches operate relays so very little current flows through them.

I noticed mine was hot also but it was at night and i figured it was just the bulb i will check tomorrow during the day

True, Casey, I often ride during the day with the lights on (especially in this crappy weather we have had lately). That may be it. I'll check next time out.

If it is, I bet we can expect them not to last long given the heat I am getting, which can't be good for those little carbon strips on the variable resistors for the heater temp sliders... ...

Appreciate the input, folks.

Looks like it's time to get some high powered LED lights.

The only problem with LED's is that they have a "pencil" style light pattern, compared to regular filament bulbs that have a natural "flood" light pattern.
