Also I got this reply from another friend who was flying in the area relating the this haul job
"I was in Fort McMurray on an overnight when this operation was going on. Saw the whole thing live. Man it was huge. I believe the tractors for this job were one of a kind. One of the foremen on the job told me just the trailer and jacking equipment cost 1 million. Very impressive operation. You would not believe the money being spent in that town. One Friday, about three weeks ago they had a huge crew change take place. We were flying our butts off trying to keep up. There were four or five different airlines chartering that day. Just on Jazz my airline, we lifted over 600 passengers between 06:00 and 10:00 using only dash eights. The only problem was trying not to hit each other taxiing on the ramp. It was a nightmare. At one point we had 4 dash 300’s, 2 737’s, an MD80, several jetstreams and all sorts of small stuff crammed in together.
