Howdy all, I've been reading the archives for a while and tried to stay up on the death wobble syndrome so here's the question. I would like to get a set of LT285's or 295's for winter tires on stock alloy wheels, is this a concern for the DW, or will this upgrade be no factor. I do not have any leveling kits, just stock suspension. Want to keep "E" rated tires for now. Thanks in advance.

It's my understanding that the "death wobble" is caused by the leveling/lift kits. I'm running 315's and have had no problems.

tires

I ve used the BFG s LT285s on my 2003 long bed with factory aluminum rims and they work excellent they also have enough room to clear large mud flaps too and they were great in the snow also . the new dodge power wagon has them and there claiming them as 33 inch tires And I had these tires up to 90 miles hour and there was no death wobble I also did this to make sure there was no drive shaft vibrations also you will be pleased with them it is a good tire the price for the tire is around 165-185 a piece good luck MATT 2004. 5 silver dually 4x4 laramie to much crap to list is your truck a dually?or or a srw because if it is a dually you are going to have problems using that size of tire

I have 285s on both my srw trucks. 18k miles on the '05 and the '03 has had them on for 30k miles and the truck is up over 70k. No problems with either one. I don't think there is an E rated 285, though I could be wrong. The 285 D carries nearly as much (as a 265 E) though because of the larger size. The BFG AT KO is a winter tire as well. I have found them excellent on snow and ice.

I have 35 12. 5 R17 BFG Mud Terrains on mine with Skyjacker D25 (2. 5 lift) coilsprings. they have been on the truck for about 20k. mi. and no deathwobble or any other problems
