What is the largest practical tire I can put on a stock 2500 without lifting the front and is there really any advantage other than looks for lifting from a practical standpoint. I might put my money elsewhere such as a new steering box which is leaking and the aftermarket steering cross member support and such.

I have been using Revo 2s. Love them, have them on my Montero which climbs better in 2wd then my truck in 4wd. Thinking about a different tire but not MT.

Well a high quality leveling kit like Carli or Thuren will greatly improve the ride, you could fit a 35x12. 5 but will rub the control arms a little , if you really wanted you could stuff a small 37 but it would. E tight , these would have to be on a stock back space wheel

285/70/17bfgs

35x12 will fit but will rub the control arms at full lock. I woul take care of the steering first. 285/75/17 will fit with no rubbing

Quite a few brands of 315's will fit with no rub. Oddly enough, Ive seen 305 nittos clear by far on one truck, and rub the drivers side arm on another. Both were 05's, no leveling. Some people claim to have stuffed "small" 37's in there with no lift/no rub.

I don't believe you can fit a 37 with no rub, they will rub the arms close to full lock, but it should clear the fender

I'm running Bridgstone Dualler's 315-70-17 on a set of 17X9 Vtec wheels only time i get a lil bit of rub is when I hit a curb when turning in t a parking lot the tire will scuff the aft side of the fender.

I agree. BUT... there have been 2 or 3 people I have seen "claim" that with a small wheel spacer (like 1/4" I believe) they have no rub with a small 37. I still dont buy it.
