I have been watching another thread about running 37" tires on a lifted truck and the possible problems that can take place to the front end and transmission. My question should seem simple enough. I have an 03, HO 4x4 Quad Cab, Short Bed with 373's. I need to put some new tires on and I would like to go a little larger than stock. What is the largest tire I can put on my stock wheels and truck? Do I need to have anything recalibrated? Any feedback would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance! :)

315/70/17 bfg's tires fit [some have some rubbing, others have none]

35x12. 50x17's should fit too [being the inch equal to the 315 bfg's]

on stock wheels... they have enough backspacing to keep them from rubbing

Hey,

A lot of people tend to believe that the 315's and 35's are the same, however, the 35 is actually a little larger, even though it is the closest match. The 315 is equal to 34. 4. I have 315's on my truck and if they were any bigger at all, they would rub at times. I don't think the 35's would clear without a 2" leveling kit on the front end. The rear would be fine though.

Hope this helps!

I run 35 12. 5 r17's on mine with the 2. 5 lift and no fenderwell rub. The 35's are only about a 1/4" taller than the 315's.

Yup, about 1/4 in height. That's about 1/8" on each side of the tire. When I crank my wheel all the way, the tire is less than 1/4" from the rear of the front wheel well. Any larger I think is too close.

Turbo Kidd. Whats up havent seen you in a while. My truck has a 2" lvl kit and 35's and with the stock wheels back on i cant rub no matter what. With my M/T classic II wheels it rubs pretty bad. . If your gonna run a 37 id recomend you stay with something in the low 37's or high 36" diameter size. Also with your 3:73 your city driving will suffer
