i installed a bhaf alittle over a month ago and i love it. i bought one of those turbo heat shields from larryb. wouldn't the heat shield retain the heat inside the turbo therefore creating higher temps in the turbo?it seems to me that it would work like a blanket and i thought heat was bad on the turbo.

My shields are designed to keep heat off the air filter element and retain very little heat but this is not nessasarily a good thing. In aircraft applications and in race cars they use a blanket to keep the heat in the turbo for better performance. You want to keep the heat/pressure in until it passes the exhaust turbine for best performance.
