MY SINCEREST APOLOGIES !!!

Ron Duncan volunteered the Boulder City park and his culinary expertise (see chapter forum, Vegas topic). He e-miled me that he would be out of town for a few days, so let's give him a "surprise" when he returns #ad

Next Saturday, August 26, late afternoon/ early evening in Boulder City we will have an informal meeting/ cookout. Ron didn't say anything about money but I think it would be courteous to have a voluntary contribution to defray his costs for food.
I will turn in our paperwork to TDR right after that to start our section officially. Bring your ideas for the chapter name ("Desert Diesels" or whatever).

Joe

Ok with me... ... .....
I'll check on the park I have in mind tomarrow to make sure there isn't some other goings on there.
It has a very big parking lot (early evening shade) next to the grass and shade. It's also close to a safe road going out in the desert in case anyone wants to go for a test ride. He, he, I think Joe better fuel up 'cause everyone will want to see what 500hp feels like!
I'm e-mailing all who are on the Chapter thread. I know a few TDR members without pc's, I'll give them a call.
OK... ... lets get some folks out on Saturday the 26th!
Ron

I'm glad to say, it looks like about a dozen diesel heads are comming to Boulder City Saturday late afternoon/evening for a get together.
Not bad for short notice and a inaugural get things started... .....
Any one in the far reaching areas are sure welcome to come. Must be some Rammers in Laughlin, Bullhead City, Overton, Pahrump, Kingman AZ, Barstow, Baker or even Southern Utah?
Jam on down/up and check out the happenings and feel free to stop at some casinos and help pay our taxes. #ad

See you Saturday!
Ron

DIRECTIONS TO CENTRAL PARK, BOULDER CITY, NV

From Las Vegas, take I-515 south to the first traffic light for BC, make a right on Veteran's Memorial Drive. You have to turn left after a bit, and the road becomes Adams. Cross a big intersection (Buchanan) and then take the second left onto Avenue B. The park is next to the pool and ballfields. Look for Rams #ad

From Kingman AZ, take the town road to the left (Rt. 500) not the Rt 93 bypass for BC. After the Bcentennial Park, Post Office, and Chamber of Commerce, take a left onto Avenue B.

Time: from about 3PM on to ?
Cost: defray Ron's out-of-pocket expenses, probably a couple bucks.
Cleanup: Ron had to shell out a $50 deposit of his money for the park reservation and guarantee it would be cleaned up afterward. So, we have to clean up and get him his money back for future bombing #ad

And, it's not at a dealership with hot pavement and salesmen, so "no one" has an excuse to miss it! If it is "too far to drive" what about that fabulous mpg of the Ram diesel? Of course, you could volunteer to set up the next meeting near your house!
See y'all there on Saturday!

Ron, sorry I couldn't make it! I read this at 3 on Saturday, and I have company in from California. I'll be sure to make it to our next gathering. How bout another one at Cummins Intermountain? I hope everyone had a great time.

It was a great get together. Ron made like Paul Prudhomme on the -BQ. 12-15 Rams around to keep us company. Pix taken of the Rams in a feeding frenzy around a sacrificial drof psd [donated by the BC PD, thanks] #ad
More pix of Rams with human components, Rams without the "biological infestations" #ad
[for you Trekkies who remember]

We had a Ram from Kingman AZ (90 miles away), one from Alamo NV (120 mi), and a Rammer from So. Cal. (ca. 300 mi).

Ron and I will talk with John Holmes about the future of May Madness. If he can't continue, we will TRY [depending on volunteer help] to have a May Madness (or if temperature is an issue, March Madness) here in Southern Nevada. Hmmm, plenty to do, maybe have drags and dyno day at the Speedway, whatever one might do at a casino #ad
, trips to attractions like Valley of Fire, Redrock canyon, Mount Charleston, Hoover Dam.

What to do for another Desert Diesels Chapter meeting? [Dyno Day is already set for Nov 18]. RV/campout somewhere? decend upon a dealership for free pizza, etc? Fishing and camping at Eagle Valley reservoir?

Huh, not Desert Diesels? Rattlers. . . like rattlesnakes. . . are they meaner than Vipers #ad

C'mon, folks, I'm turning in the paperwork, we need a name for the chapter. Vote here or not at all, locals of LV!
Desert Rattlers, hmmm. not bad, Sparky. #ad

Sparky, I'll give the "silent majority" a few days to "vote" before finalizing the name. Desert Rattlers does sound catchy, I gotta admit. I think the other chapter members are afraid to vote #ad
because I will "volunteer" them to help on MM01 #ad

Desert Rattlers is perfect! Count my vote for it!
