350 ford to Cummings

Air Box for the Scout

Does anyone know of info, pics, or links to late 90's GM trucks upgraded to CTD power? I'm thinking about doing a 2nd gen 12 valve late 90's Suburban, 4WD. Or possibly a crew cab. I wonder if the IFS would be a problem as far as fitting the Cummins. Could do a Dana 60 swap also. Thanks.

I wish someone would respond, i'm curious about the same question. I have a 94 3500 12v four door conversion but the body is rough so i was thinking about pulling the motor and transmission and putting it in a chevy but dont know what all is envolved.

Yeah, I'd like to know. My wife wants a Sub, but we would be fine with a crew cab. I just hate to have to accept a crappy 6. 5 to get a diesel Sub. And to get a real crew cab, I have to accept either a Duramax or a PSD. The Furd is really not an option. I have to drive one for work, but not after that. :)

Have you checked out Timo's thread on his Sub conversion? I don't think his is late 90's, but the info may be helpful. It's a thread with thousands of views and replies and is worth a read for sure.

I have done one. I love it. Mine was a 1996 GMC Suburban. I used the 12Valve and the 47RH transmission. Will try to give more details later on.

Thanks for the replies. I gave up on the conversion idea, went to the "dark side" and bought an '03 GMC crew cab with the Dmax/Allison. Other than the lower stance, I have to say I really like the truck and it pulls great.
