Hey guy's I know we have talked about this before but I could not find anything . My Question is what is the last flash that is being used on the 2008 truck's? Any Idea's

Just had my computer upgraded for a trip today. The flash used was WLAB with CSR602 printed beside it. I can't tell you what it did. The truck went in running fine with no codes and drove all day in the city with no change in performance. I'm looking forward to our 800 mile trip to see if there is any change in mpg. The highest I have got was 18 US mpg. I am happy when it shows up for a 7500 lb truck

Wrong numbers my friend :)

Tsb 18-013-09 is the latest authorization for an up date. It includes flashing the CCN as well as the ECM and an information packet and visor sticker. The actual ecm flashpart# will vary with trans and year models

Thanks Bob for the full info. I was going off the shop invoice. I looked all over the cab and engine compartment. I think the tech didn't bother with the sticker.

I also posted this on another website...

Check out this website:

https://techauthority.gltghosting.c...rHome?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10051

If you click on the link on the left side of the page that says "J2534 Flash Availability" (https://techauthority.gltghosting.c...Avail?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10051), it will bring up a PDF document of all current flashes for all Chrysler vehicles. If you look at page 221, it shows

2008 DH 6. 7L CUMMINS AUTO 50S 2500 ECM Flash, New Part Number 62350235AP, TSB 18-013-08, Recalls RCG30-07

On the next page is the info for the manual transmissions

2008 DH 6. 7L CUMMINS MAN 50S 2500 ECM Flash, New Part Number 62350235AO, TSB(s) 18-013-08, Recall(s) RCG30-07

The bottom of pages show that it was last updated on 4/14/2008. It looks like this is where dealerships actually download the flashes for their StarScans. Heck, you can even order your very own StarScan tool for $4350. :D

I think that is what I just got. I bought my truck 8 days ago. 5 days ago it threw a P2000 code, no big deal, just a sensor parameters code. I took it in a couple days ago and when I picked it up I was told that there was a Rapid Response flash just released. Everything is good now, and at the same time that information packet showed up in my truck.

Just bought a 2008 3500 and will pick up on 5/7. How can I be sure that the flashes are up to date? The dealer is some 80 miles from my house and I don't want any unnecessary trips @ $4/gal.

Thanks for the welcome. I read here a post that made me think that the updates were posted in the vehicle in some way. If so, I could verify that they were up to date.

If it has been flashed there should be a sticker under the hood with the software # and the reason it was flashed.

Bob

hopefully there is a sticker, i have forgotten many times to do the stickers, they can see what the latest flash is by, hooking up the scanner, getting the ecm software number and then putting that into the computer and seeing if there are any updates.

mopartech... .

early 08 5500 Auto, with a soft spot in the throttle at 38-45 mph... seems to stumble some..... its had an O2 and Crank Position sensor and the dealer has had it for several hours looking for the soft spot... they drive it and say its there... ...

Truck has about 15K now, mostly on the highway... . we're happy except for the soft spot or stumble... if you push the tow/haul button it goes away... .

They tell us, its had all its updates... . and to drive it... . no codes shown or stored... I posted this issue a while back and several with 08 and autos commented to having the same issue... .

Any personal thoughts..... and/or if you've seen this personally...

Thanks... .
