Has anyone ever performed this type of conversion on a 4x4? If so, do you have pictures of the install and/or the finished product. Any info would also be great. I ask, because I may want to do this type of conversion some time down the road. Benefits: manual lock-out hubs (scrap the CAD all together); leaf springs are more HD than coils; it is easier to lift a leaf-sprung truck and I think it would be a cool project.

Thanks

There is one in town here. I haven't seen it up close, but it looks like a deathtrap, kind of like they decided to do it and did it all in one day. I have wondered why this isn't more popular, but I personally wouldn't dive into my front end without some sort of engineered kit.

Do a search on my user name and from somewhere way back in the deep dark archives you should find a thread or two on this very subject. IMO, you'd be better off starting with a 1st gen truck than butchering a 2nd gen truck. You can swap out the CAD front axle if you really want manual hubs or use the Dynatrac conversion kit.
