I have a leak on the passenger side. after a rain, I have a small puddle of water on the floormat. Yesterday, I noticed an even smaller puddle on the drivers side as well. I did a search on the subject and most seam to be leaks from the third break light. I did replace my window recently, and can't remember if it leaked before the replacement or not, but right now the window is my main suspect. I wasn't impressed by the glass shop. It was a shop I don't normally use and they scratched the hell out of my fender and left urethane smeared all over the truck.

Anyway, I can reach up under the dash and feel the water drops. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Dave

Sounds like you might want to have a glass shop replace your front winshield.

I ran into that problem when my last windshield was replaced. I could actually hear wind noise from the improperly installed windshield. That, and I could see daylight where I shouldn't have.

Grrr that rips me a new one hearing about crappy shoddy workmanship! Anywho I need to replace my windshield and are hoping none of the above happens or #ad
. Take Pics of the truck BEFORE repair and After..... There isn't a shop out there that can fight pictures. thats why I keep one in the Glove box.

Have you checked to make sure the vents in the bottom of the Passenger door are free an clear? (Very bottom slits cut into sheet metal. ) Ive seen door cavities fill up to the First hole (Which I believe is the holes for the pop in pins) and will empty Into the cab.

Also double check any "Penetrations" that have been made for accessories thru the firewall / cowl area.

Pull off inside moulding / trim around the windhield and have someone sit inside crawling arround looking while a hose is applied arround the windshiels and sofourth.

I dont know if a kit is needed for these windshields, but in a past vehicle, I needed a windshiled replaced. I specifically told the shop owner that I want them to get a new kit for it. I told him that I dont mind going the extra $40. 00 (if memory is correct)for it to be done right.

It turns out they didnt get the kit. I guess they just wanted the extra $40. 00 for nothing.

Sorry if I'm taking this wayy off topic, it probably aint the windshield afterall... . :D

Thanks for the replies, guys. I think I'm just going to take the truck to my usual glass repair shop (I learned a lesson with this one!) and have them re&re the window. Even if it isn't the window, I don't trust it anyway. In my book, a tradesman that sloppy probably doesn't know what he's doing. My wife said I should take it back to the guy who did the install and make him fix it, but I said that I don't want him touching my truck again. I'd rather eat the $'s and make sure its done right. If it leaks after the window re&re, I'll try the water hose trick.

Thanks

Dave

Were you running the air or defrost?

Mine will do the same when the evaporator drain is plugged.

It is on the engine side of the firewall.

As the owner of an HVAC company, I did think about a plugged condensate line or leaking evap coil tray! But it isn't my problem. One other thing though, I wonder if its possible to have a "fresh air damper" or something that isn't closing? I'll see if I can check it out. I did call my glass shop and they said that they may be unable to re&re the window without breaking it. Of course, insurance wouldn't cover it if they did break it! I am now forced to try to isolate the problem and if it is the window, I will have to wait until it has an "accident".

Dave

If you do find its the window DO NOT LET INSURANCE PAY! (Why raise YOUR premiums for their shoddy workmanship)!

Besides they HAVE to carry a warrantee of some sort weather a 90 day or 1 year leakage deal.
