Today, out of the blue, I found a puddle of p/s fluid on the ground at the left front tire area. Looking under the truck, I noticed the pump area to be wet, so I checked the high-pressure line. It was a little loose, so I tightened it. When I looked closer I saw the pump/resevoir area to be wet higher up than just the line fitting area, so I'm concerned there's a leak somewhere else too. I haven't had time to check it further.

Has anybody else had this problem? I did have that pressure line replaced over a year ago due to a TSB, but I've had no problems since. My truck has 59,000 miles, so I'd also like to know if any fixes would be covered under my extended warranty.

Thanks,

Steve

My 03 was a mess at the pump. Service tech at the dealership told me to keep the oil level a little lower. It has been okay since.

Oil leak

I need to update my signiture, I just bought a 2003 with 80,000 miles. The pump was leaking when I bought it. I took the tank off of the pump today. Just a couple of torx head bolts and the tank falls off. This is fairly easy to do, maybe an hour or so There is an o-ring on the tank where it sticks into the pump, new o-ring and walla no more leak. . Hope this helps :)

Mine leaked also, not the original, but the one that was replaced with the TSB. The tubing had cracked at the ferrule fitting. It was one year and four days after they had replaced the hose. The warrantee on the replacement hose was for one year... so I had to pay for the hose. I installed it myself. Also, I posted before that if you lose all your fluid you will have no power steering or power brakes and it is a real bear to steer and stop even unloaded.
